RAJO (RAJU) - town and region near AFRIN in Syria

Bajarokê Rajo (Reco, Rajo, Radjou; erebî: بلدة راجو, مركز ناحية راجو ) li ser girekî zinarî û hewreyî ye di orta bilindiya Baylan (Balyan) de li Çiyayê Hawarê, beşekî bilind e ji Çiyayên Kurmanc (Kurdaxê) ye, û bi qasî 585 meteran bi ser asteya deriyayê ve dikeve; ferehiya devera Raco (yanê bajarok bi 65 gund û baxçe yan Laylan/Baylanên derdorê wê ve) bi qasî 352 kilometrên ciwarkuşe ye. Li Raco di roja şemiyê ji pir zû de de bazarekî mezin çêdibe, şêniyên gundên derdora wê dihên wir, kirîn û firotanan, yanê karên bazariyên xwe li wê derê dikin. Hejmara niştîvanên Raco berve 4.000 kesan ve diçe. Di Rajo re ji sala 1912 rêza tirêna Berlîn-Baxdadê derbaz dibe. Gundên bi nizîkî li dor Raco ev in: Hac Xalîl, Atmana, Mosekan, Muskan, Memalan, Hopkan û Banîkan.

Rajo bzw. Radjou (Kurdisch: Rajo, Reco [c=j]; arabisch: بلدة راجو ، مركز ناحية راجو) ist der Name eines Dorfes oder Kleinstadt in der Region Afrin (Kurdenberg) im Bezirk Aleppo in Nordwest Syriens. Rajo hat knapp 4.000 Einwohner und ist die Regierungsstadt der gleichnamigen Gemeinde mit etwa 65 Dörfern bzw. Farms. Die Gemeinde Rajo hat ca. 67.000 Einwohner. Rajo ist eine sehr alte Stadt bzw. Kulturort und liegt auf der Hochebene Baylan mitten des Kurdenbergs. Der Name Rajo geht auf eine alte gleichnamige kurdische Familie des Stammes Schaykh(k)an zurück. Über Rajo verläuft seit 1912 auch die "Berlin-Baghdad-Bahn" bzw. die "Bagdadbahn".

Rajo and/or Radjou (Kurdish: Rajo, Reco [c=j]; Arab: بلدة راجو, مركز ناحية راجو) is the name of a village or a town in the region Afrin (Kurd mountain) in the district Aleppo in northwest of Syria. Rajo has scarcely 4.000 inhabitants and is the government city of the municipality of the same name with approximately 65 villages and/or farm. The municipality Rajo has approx. 67.000 inhabitants. Rajo is a very old city and/or culture place and lies on the platteu Baylan in the middle of the Kurd mountain. The name Rajo decreases/goes back to an old Kurdish family of the same name of the trunk Shaykh(ka)n. Over Rajo also the “Berlin Baghdad course” (Bagdadbahn) runs since 1912.


Kurd-Dagh, Kurdax, Kurdenberg, کورداخ - عفرین - سوریا:
Kurd-Dagh (Kurd-Ax, Çiyayê Kurd yan Çiyayên Kurmanc جبل الأكراد، جبال الكورد ), übersetzt Berg der Kurden ist ein Plateau in Nordwest Syriens, zwischen Amanos-Gebirge zum Mittelmeer (Türkei) und den Flachebenen von Aleppo. Der Kurd-Dagh besteht aus einer Vielzahl von vulkanischen Bergen, Tälern und Ebenen. Das fruchtbare Plateau wird geopolitisch als Region Afrin (Afrîn, Efrîn) bezeichnet. Olivenhaine, Gemüse- und Getreidefelder kennzeichnen die Landschaft. Durch den Kurd-Dagh, von der Grenzstadt Maydan Akpas über Rajo راجو und Qatma, fährt über die Brücke Hascharkê oder Herederê (Heşarkê', 'Herederê) und durch drei Tunnels Hascharkê, Mosekan und Keferjenê seit 1912 die Berlin-Baghdad-Bahn bzw. die Bagdadbahn.
