RAJO: The live of a town with railway train

A train crosses the high level of Baylan at Rajo in the Kurdish mountains 'Kurd-Dagh'. The railway line was originally a part of the Berlin-Baghdad Railway, the Kurdistan should join with Germany, in World War I but has declined in importance.

Ein Eisenbahnzug duchquert die Hochebene Baylan bei Rajo in den kurdischen Bergen "Kurd-Dagh". Die Eisenbahnlinie ist ursprünglich ein Teil der Berlin-Bagdad-Bahn, die Kurdistan mit Deutschland verbinden sollte, im Ersten Weltkrieg aber an Bedeutung verloren hat.


A look at the railway station of Rajo: Here stood until the early 1970s, the old station built in 1912 by the German Railway. The new station was built by the Syrian railway company under the old model.

Ein Blick auf die Eisenbahnstation von Rajo: Hier stand noch bis Anfang der 1970er Jahre der alte von der Deutschen Reichsbahn 1912 gebaute Bahnhof. Die neue Bahnstation von Rajo wurde von der Syrischen Eisenbahngesellschaft entsprechend dem alten Vorbild gebaut.

Die Eisenbahnstation von Rajo liegt in der Hochebene Baylan bzw. Balyan in den kurdischen Bergen "Kurd-Dagh" zwischen Aleppo und Adana. Hier ein Blick von der Kleinstadt Rajo auf den Bahnhof. Im Hintergrund hoch am Berghang das Dorf Hopkan.

The railway bridge of Haradara over the gorge of Hasharke near Rajo was built in 1912 by the German Railways. Western Kurdistan was then the Ottoman Empire. The bridge is guarded constantly being renovated and attracts many visitors.

Die Eisenbahnbrücke von Haradara über der Schlucht von Hascharke nahe Rajo wurde 1912 von der Deutschen Reichsbahn gebaut. West-Kurdistan gehörte damals dem Osmanen-Reich. Die Brücke wird ständig bewacht und saniert und zieht viele Besucher an.
